BME 207/305 Bioinstrumentation and Circuit Theory (Spring 2023)

Lecture Professor: Professor Yunjie Tong (
My Lab Sections: Wednesday Morning, Thursday Morning, Friday Morning
Lab Manager/Coordinator: Adalyn Meeks (

Textbook: Hayt, Kemmerly, Phillips, and Durbin. Engineering Circuit Analysis, 9th Edition, McGraw-Hill, 2019, ISBN: 9780073545516/9781259989452/9781259989513
(Older editions and other textbooks are okay too)

Learning Outcomes (my version)
  • Analyze linear resistive circuits, 1st order linear circuits (LC circuits), and circuits with diodes, transistors, and amplifiers by using Ohm’s law, nodal analysis, mesh analysis, and Laplace transforms.
  • Design and build analog circuits on the breadboard
  • Simulate analog circuits using LTspice
  • Designing bioinstrumentation measurement systems to record physiological events.
  • Write Python code to analyze, plot, and process physiological data
  • Interface with, and write code for a microcontroller to record physiological data.
